Object Name Footstool
Description Rather crude construction; rectangular shaped top; the top extends over the legs; the two long sides of the footstool have two long and narrow rectangular shaped braces for greater support; the entire footstool shows evidence of much wear; legs and feet begin as one rectangular shaped piece of wood underneath top of stool; there is an arc-shaped section cut out of the bottom of this board to form two legs from that one piece of wood; top os stool was once painted butternut yellow, but only traces remain; the rest of the stool was once stained reddish brown, but has also chipped in many places; written in pencil on bottom of stool is, "Hancock, Mass-E.D. Andrews"; legs are inset from top of stool; also has an old label from Berkshire museum on underside of stool top
