A - Oval box - pine bottom and top - maple sides and rim. Box is stained dark red but the bottom and the inside is natural wood. Inside of cover and rim is also natural wood. Box has 2 fingers lap jointed to the right and secured with copper nails. Section around top of box stain is worn off where the cover fits down. Impressed into bottom of box is "N.F.", most probably standing for the North Family. B - Lid. Inside of cover is natural wood, outside is stained dark red. Cover stain is slightly darker in color than box. Has one finger pointing to the right that is lap jointed and secured with 4 copper nails.
