Photograph of Frances Mary Langford, marked to back "18 years, Mar. 1884." Posed leaning with elbow against couch, heavy drapery hanging over couch. Frances Mary came with her mother, Ann Maria Whitehouse Langford, and her brother Edward, as all three were applying to enter Shaker society at Mt. Lebanon in 1883. Frances Mary left to get married to a man named Longbridge in 1886. Was originally matted and framed, note attached to back of frame read: "Frances Mary Langford, Sister of Edward Langford and Aunt of Jean Langford Matthews. Taken at Mt. Lebanon, NY, circa 1884."
