Square and Points / Sawtooth Star, 80" x 91", hand pieced, 90 blocks, cotton, white/blue/gold/red, hand quilting (6 stitches per inch, parallel lines - some chevrons/som squares), straight applied/front to back binding, cotton batting, off-white handwoven cotten backing Pattern: 2138C / 2375a, Brackman This Square and Points quilt has ninety blocks total: twenty-three stars, twenty-two square and points, and forty-five plain blocks. Each block is 8 ¼" square, set with plain blocks separating alternating stars and square and point blocks. Blocks are set nine across and ten down. A pieced border of indigo blue squares on point with white triangles has the opposite placement of colors from the pieced blocks in the body of the top. The yellow and red print is also used in separating blue pieces at the top and bottom of the top. Hand quilting is done in parallel lines about ½" apart, with some chevrons and squares. |
