Gladiola, 76.5" x 89", applique technique, embroidered (petals, stems), cotton, multicolor (pastels), hand quilting (7 stitches per inch, feathers/swags/parallel lines into chevrons), summer quilt (two layers, no batting), bias applied/front to back binding (scalloped edge - maybe "2nd" binding), white cotton backing 82.73, Brackman The Gladiola quilt has a one-piece top, with hand appliqué and a small amount of hand embroidery. A large central bouquet of multi-pastel gladiolas, and single stalk flowers pointing inward in each corner, are appliquéd on a white ground. A bias applied yellow binding covers the original green binding. The edges are scalloped. |
